My name is Warren McDowall and I was born in a town called Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, Africa in 1968. I lived in Bulawayo for 23 years before visiting the United Kingdom where I met my wife Edwina and subsequently settled. I do not have a background in Illustration and I have no formal training or qualifications in art. However like most people I have worked a normal job my entire life and paint in my spare time. From a young age I loved drawing and I have a passion for wildlife and wild places so it was a natural step for me to combine them.

In my formative years I sketched and worked predominantly in pastels mainly because it was the cheapest and only medium available to me. Now I paint primarily in oils and acrylics.
